Single Chamber Temporary Pacemaker

The Medtronic Model 53401 Single Chamber EPG Pacemaker is intended for use in conjunction with a pacing lead system to provide temporary atrial or ventricular pacing in the clinical setting. The 53401 Single Chamber EPG may be used when short-term (synchronous) or asynchronous on-demand pacing is indicated for therapeutic, prophylactic, or diagnostic purposes.
Specific indications for temporary cardiac pacing include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Complete heart block;
• Sinus bradycardia;
• Sick sinus syndrome;
• Bradycardia with congestive heart failure;
• Atrial and/or ventricular arrhythmias;
• Cardiac arrest;
• Support, management and assessment of patients temporarily prior to permanent pacemaker implantation;
• Support during permanent pacemaker replacement;
• Cardiac complications during invasive procedures or surgery;
• Temporary support for patients after heart surgery;
• Acute myocardial infarction complications due to heart block; and
• High-frequency pacing for the treatment of supraventricular tachycardia
